Teacher Catherine is so nice! From our first meeting, it was clear that she has a friendly and kind energy. I immediately wanted to study with her! 😊 In our Chinese class today, she helped me review the numbers. She was super patient the entire time and had a good ability to analyze what pace I needed. Her English is fantastic, so she explained everything clearly in English. She lives in the USA so she knows a lot about American English and culture, so I enjoyed talking with her about differences between the US and Taiwan. I especially liked how she helped me with the tones, which are very challenging for me. She smiled and laughed during the class which made me feel relaxed & like I was studying with a friend. Teacher was prepared for my level and explained well to me specifics of language. I felt encouraged because to me Chinese looks difficult but my teacher explained how easy it is actually. I learned basic phrases and also we had time for some historical and cultural specifics and for curious person for me it was very nice to learn that also. She recommended me what is the best approach for my level – how to improve.

It was an amazing lesson and we were able to cover so much. Flora was able to explain complex pronunciations with ease, created a fun learning environment and did a lot to motivate me to try and speak and get the right pronunciation.

Sam is a great teacher. I felt his enthusiasm for teaching from the first day of class. He was patient and kind when I couldn't get some of the words right (actually, I feel I put too much pressure on improving my pronunciation right away, even though it's not possible). Not only did he prepare wonderful and interactive activities to use during class, but he also sent me extra homework to complete after each session. If anyone wants to learn Zhuyin, I recommend signing up for his course. You'll enjoy it thoroughly! Class is always fun and lively. My teacher explained to us about the Chinese holiday of 端午節. It was really interesting because I don't know the meaning of the same holidays in Korea. :)

I treasure every class with Dr. Ting. She has so many thoughtful, fun materials. Learning Mandarin with her is wonderful thanks to her kind energy and excellent teaching skills. It is a challenging language, but in every class I learn many new words and the time flies by quickly. She is good at reading people to know what they need. Today, we studied colors with a beautiful song and also she taught me a new phrase using many videos that helped me to clearly understand the meaning.

The teacher's way of leading learning is very clear. I can follow the teacher's rhythm step by step and gain and improve. After slowly learning, I have easily mastered quite a number of words. It's really great. Previously, I couldn't read anything, but now I can actually read short passages and the pronunciation is also very fluent. I'm very happy and also very grateful to the teacher.
